new weird "tricks"?

today, i surprised my parents with two things:

1. I laughed. Not smiled. Not giggled and shrieked. Laughed a big girl's laugh! It just happened while my dad was making funny faces at me. They wanted me to do it again and be captured on cam, but nah, i didn't. I couldn't even remember how i did that. At least it gave them a glimpse of the happy big girl me.

2. I baby-talked in my sleep. While i was cradled sleeping by mom, she thought i was conversing. But when she looked down, i was sleeping. She even double checked and called my dad to watch. Then i spoke once more coupled with a smile. And once again, i made them laugh. Haha. No mom, i wasn't making that up. I was really asleep.

I have a lot more lined up. So just be ready and please be quick with that cam ok?!

yet another weird dream

mom had another weird dream about me a couple of nights ago. it's actually composed of two parts. in part 1, i was already born (and it seems that we just went home from the hospital that day, but she has no recollection of giving birth), but she hasn't seen me yet since she had to fight two witches (she was also a witch on her dream) who were planning on snatching me from them when i turned 18. she was able to drive them away though.

she then went to the family room where i was sleeping, then dad went upstairs to get some sleep. she's surprised to see me really big. i could actually sit up (i was as big as a one year old). then lola mami told her that i was 14 lbs at birth (yeah, 2x the weight of a normal newborn) and delivered normally (mom definitely couldn't imagine giving birth to a 14 pounder!). she then nursed me (she told dad by the way, that she really felt me sucking as though everything's real). she initially thought that no milk was coming out til she saw some, dripping, so she felt relieved that she has milk and that i can eat despite the fact that they haven't attended their breastfeeding class yet. then she had to wake up coz her bladder's knocking :)

her dream kinda continued though. but in part 2, i really am small. like a regular newborn. in her dream, she just came home from somewhee (not from work, but she couldn't remember where) and found me being held and fed (with formula! -- my parents planned on breastfeeding me fully by the way, so starting with formula is a no no for them) by a neighbor. she then got me from her, thanked her and sent her home. she started nursing me but unintentionally slept while doing it. she then woke up with my dad supporting me while i nurse from her and got scared, when she saw my face all covered with milk. she wiped me immediately and the dream ended.

my mom's probably still paranoid that her milk won't come out that's why she's having these kinds of weird dreams. haha

halfway point!

uh-huh, 20 weeks and 3 days old today! 20 (or less?) more weeks to go and i'll soon be meeting the parents! (wait, isn't it that 40 weeks = 10months?!... whatever! we don't want to deal with pregnancy math anyway, do we? :D).

mom's been feeling my movements more frequently this week. she feels me at least once everyday now! hooray! it was different from the first few times that she felt me according to her. she's describing it to my dad as something that's brushing through inside her tummy (yap, that's me). too bad dad couldn't feel them yet. soon dad, soon.

oh, by the way, my parents finally made the big announcement! you can look at mom's blog, mom's friendster and mom's multiply page. i loved the collage that dad made for me (mom posted this on her blog). i specially liked the picture of my pair of tiny feet. everyone who visited mom's site left really exciting and happy comments and had nothing but well wishes for my family. awww. thanks so much!

both sides of the families now know what my gender is. and they're as excited as my parents. but it's been pretty obvious that they both have a preference for "blue". for one, they just recently found out that my cousin jo-c (joanne cara) is going to be an "ate" for me. so there'd be two grand daughters for lolo dadi and lola mami this year. on my daddy's side, my lolo tatay was probably still in denial and kept on telling them that it's too early to tell and that sonographers can be wrong sometimes. teehee. can't blame him though since all my 3 cousins on dad's side are girls (almost ladies now). so he's probably secretly hoping for a boy with his unico ijo (uh-huh, my dad's his only boy). haha, ain't that cute?!

on the "names" end, my parents told ate ishang their list of names. and she suggested some more. hahaha. but at least, with her help, they were able to trim the names down to 4 (or 5?). but i'm pretty sure they'e falling for just 1 or a couple. i just hope they'd finalize that before i come out. i still go by "kiko", by the way.

oh and don't you know that dads-to-be also experience weird dreams about their babies-to-be?! in my dad's dream, he's showing some friends my ultrasound pics and those experts told him that i had 8 fingers and 8 toes on my right, and 6 fingers and 6 toes on my left. then he was already holding me and confirmed that i do! in his dream, though a tad worried, he still assured himself that those can be fixed by surgery anyway. haha. what is it with finger and toe count on parents-to-be?!

as for my last update, my parents finally have enlisted themselves on the childbirth preparation lamaze class by st. alphonsus. breastfeeding class comes free with enrollment too. they'll have the childbirth class on july 26. i hope they learn tons from it so that they won't get too stressed out just thinking about how i will come out. harhar.

alrighty, that's all folks! but before i forget, we'd like to thank tita ge for giving my parents some baby items list to start with. so now, they had been seriously window shopping for baby items, scouting for the best prices and finding good bargains for my stuff. mom said that they won't buy any baby items on garage/yard sales until they got me something new first :)

some weird dreams

17 weeks old and kicking!... that's me! ;)

mom's been telling dad that that she probably felt me moving. the first time that it's a little bit noticeable was on saturday and she described it as tita sheryll did when she was pregnant with kuya niknok (it's hard to explain in words... just ask mom and she'll demonstrate it like tita sheryll did). but she ain't sure coz it wasn't really the first time that she had that same feeling. then, she felt the same on sunday (or monday?). come tuesday, while sitting at her desk and concentrating at a presentation she's doing, she said she probably felt me again. that time, she described it the way tita tere described it when she was carrying ate sophie (like "flutters" and "butterflies" or "bubbles"). but she's still not 100% sure (again, she's too gassy :D). it's probably me, mom. as i've said, i'm trying to do some stretching for you, ok? i'm trying to make it more frequent so that you'd be 101% sure that it's me and not your super active gas ;)

anyway, to stay on track with the title of this blog, i'll share mom's weird dream about me. in her dream, she already gave birth to me. we were in a small bedroom, and it was far from a hospital room. she was carrying me and kissing me and was just so happy to be with me. she was so glad that i have long lashes (hers are straight and short, heehee). mom's side of the family and relatives were coming in, when suddenly, lola tita zen asked my mom to count my toes. to her surprise, i have 6 toes on my left foot, and 7 on my right! and they are really long, probably as long as my mom's fingers. she could not recall what happened next. all she know was she was so worried when she woke up. haha... some weird dream! tita roxie once told mom that she's been having weird dreams about my cuz jo-c too. i think all pregnant moms (specially first time moms), have all kinds of dreams about their babies.

mom had some more weird dreams about me earlier in her pregnancy, but she could not recall any of them now.
